We are a Rehabilitation Day Centre operating in the community of Hangberg which is a neighbourhood of Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa. It is situated on the mountain slopes between Hout Bay Harbour and the Sentinel peak and many of the residents are employed in fishing and other industries related to the harbour. However with unemployment, community challenges and now the world crisis of Covid-19 which has brought additional huge hardship to many in our country, this has made it harder today for people to get into treatment care and counselling than it’s ever been, especially for those who do not have the ability to pay.
Hangberg Dreams NPC was established having identified this crisis and having responding to the serious challenges facing people in the grip of addiction and the problems associated with addiction which were growing in both volume and complexity well before COVID 19 all over South Africa and in all levels of society. The barriers to accessing the treatment and support to individuals needed as becoming a serious problem for many and has been exacerbated by the pandemic, which creates a chance of recovery and sobriety. In our safe and secure environment, it will allows individuals to establish and discover their own personal abilities and learn new skills to implement a better, healthier, richer, stable and structured life.
We have recently signed and secured a lease over newly renovated premises which now needs to be furnished to complete our holistic support structures. With public support and participation we will be able to establish this residential facility to continue to deliver our care and recovery programmes through the “miracle is in the doing”, without we believe without action, change cannot take place and for this reason we are looking for assistance and sponsorship to complete our project.
We are humbly reaching out to you and your networks in the hope, to assist us to source double bunk beds in order to assist more vulnerable people.
